Mental Health Therapist - Mt Pleasant/Skamania Job Description General Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health, the Mental Health Therapist works as part of the treatment team to provide direct counseling and therapeutic support to students. See what it is like to work with our team: Salary Full salary ranges, determined by experience and licenses held: Mental Health Therapist I: $45,887.66 - $55,820.38 annually / $35.85 - $43.61 hourly Mental Health Therapist II: $50,009.22 - $60,850.74 annually / $39.07 - $47.54 hourly Assignment The position is full-time, 160 days per year, and is a split position supporting students at Mt. Pleasant School and Skamania School. Attendance Regular attendance is required to ensure consistency and support a positive, productive learning environment. Essential Functions Work with students and their guardians in the development of an individual support plan that is strength‑based, measurable, and assists students in meeting their goals. Provide individual, family, and group counseling; provide care coordination services as indicated for students in accordance with the individual support plan and evaluation recommendations. Work in an environment with students with mental health challenges, including self‑injurious behaviors. Assess for need and submit referrals as clinically indicated for students on caseload. Administer and assess evidence‑based measurement tools to track student improvement, success, and readiness for service conclusion. Maintain complete and timely documentation as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. Support and implement ESD §112 agency policies and procedures. Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team—including guardians, other natural supports, IEP teams, school and district staff, community treatment team members, and other team members—as indicated. Provide consultation, education, and training for staff as directed by the program director or supervisor. Other Functions Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for students. Participate in staff and team meetings, in‑service programs, workshops, and seminars. Maintain knowledge of best practices in the mental health field. Support extracurricular activities. Teach group lessons on social skills and conflict resolution. Coordinate and manage student 504 Plans. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology. Experience working with social/emotional at‑risk youth. Experience with social/emotional support or therapy. Hold or ability to obtain an unrestricted Washington license (LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW). Preferred Qualifications Experience and understanding of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), including multi‑tiered systems of support (MTSS). Experience working in a school setting. Experience working with Special Education students or programs. Familiarity with Washington mental health agencies and resources. Bilingual. Working Conditions Travel throughout ESD 112 region. Variety of settings, including students' homes, office, and school environments. Extended or flexible hours as necessary. Employment Requirements Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the WA State Patrol and FBI.
