Surgery Scheduler – Obstetrics & Gynecology OfficePosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our busy OB/GYN practice. This role is responsible for coordinating surgical procedures, communicating with patients, obtaining authorizations from insurance companies, and ensuring a smooth surgical scheduling process from start to finish.The ideal candidate has prior medical office or surgical scheduling experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.ResponsibilitiesSchedule gynecologic surgeries and procedures with hospitals, surgery centers, and physiciansCoordinate pre-operative appointmentsObtain insurance authorizations and verify benefitsCommunicate surgery dates, instructions, and preparation details to patientsMaintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemCoordinate with providers, operating rooms, anesthesia teams, and hospital staffEnsure all required labs, imaging, consents, and clearances are completed prior to surgeryAnswer patient questions regarding scheduling and surgical preparationManage scheduling changes, cancellations, and urgent add-ons efficientlyMaintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all timesQualificationsPrevious experience in medical scheduling or surgery scheduling preferredExperience in OB/GYN, gynecology, women’s health, or surgical specialties strongly preferredKnowledge of insurance verification and prior authorizationsFamiliarity with EMR systems and Microsoft OfficeExcellent organizational and multitasking skillsStrong phone etiquette and patient communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with clinical staffHigh attention to detail and accuracyPreferred SkillsKnowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding basicsExperience working with hospitals and ambulatory surgery centersBilingual candidates encouraged to applyCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision benefits (if applicable)Paid time off and holidaysSupportive team environmentScheduleFull-timeMonday–FridayDay shift #J-18808-Ljbffr
