RN - Acute Care

Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a qualified Acute Care Registered Nurse to join our new Admissions Pending Unit. This is a temporary position with a firm start date of either October 5 or October 12, and will last for 26 weeks. The role requires a commitment to a 36-hour workweek, with shifts scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Location: Topeka, KSKey Responsibilities:Initiate admission orders for new patients.Complete the admission navigator process.Document initial admission assessments accurately and efficiently.Manage various patient diagnoses, ensuring rapid patient throughput with an ideal length of stay of 4 hours or less.May be required to float to other units as needed.Be available to work holidays as required.Qualifications:Active Kansas state license or a multistate license required.BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA are mandatory.No pending certifications or licenses will be accepted.No disciplinary actions on license - no exceptions.Experience in managing cardiac and anticoagulant drips, such as Cardizem and Heparin, is preferred.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and adapt quickly to changing situations.Strong time management skills and clinical judgment are essential for success in this role.Additional Information:This position is based in an award-winning Level II Trauma Center.
