Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable custodian to join our facilities team. This is a full-time, year-round position responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work to support the safe and efficient operation of school district buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general building maintenance tasks individually or as part of a team.
- Maintain and care for district buildings.
- Safely operate maintenance machinery.
- Read and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve department goals and meet project deadlines.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and contractors.
- Perform duties in various weather conditions.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Prior experience in general facilities maintenance preferred.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License required.
- Black Seal License must be obtained within two years from the date of hire.
- Starting Salary: $41,321.00
- Benefits: Eligible for family medical, prescription, and dental coverage. Includes vacation and sick leave.
- Contract: 12-month position; represented by the MOPS Bargaining Unit and NJEA.
