RN Registered Nurse

Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care – Cardinal Care Strategies Muncie, IN Position Type Full-time / Part-time / PRN Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, professional nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing and long-term care environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to residents, including medication administration, treatments, and documentation. Monitor residents’ health status, observe for changes in condition, and report promptly to the RN or physician. Assist with developing, updating, and implementing individualized care plans. Supervise and direct Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality resident care. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records and documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. Participate in admission, discharge, and transfer processes for residents. Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Promote residents’ rights, dignity, and independence. Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures. Participate in continuing education and staff development activities. Qualifications Current RN license in good standing with the Indiana State Board of Nursing. CPR certification (BLS) required. Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred. Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Must be able to lift, move, and assist residents as needed. Work Schedule Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays, as assigned. Overtime and on-call duties as required by facility needs. Physical and Environmental Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and transferring residents. Exposure to infectious materials and chemicals in a healthcare environment.
