The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, with a steady 37.5-hour workweek.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold one of the following:
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • At least 48 college semester hours recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency, plus completion of a paraeducator course via Stedi.org (minimum 70% passing score)
  • Relevant pediatric or school-based experience working with children with hearing loss
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to complete fingerprinting and a comprehensive background check as part of time-sensitive credentialing

Role Overview:

• Serve as an onsite paraprofessional in a dynamic K-12 environment, providing tailored support to students with hearing loss (details on caseload and age group forthcoming)
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and educational professionals to foster an inclusive learning setting
• Engage in proactive communication with students and staff to facilitate access to educational resources through ASL
• Rotate between assigned campuses, both within a short driving distance
• Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development as needed
