Medical Assistant - Pulmonology

Medical AssistantPen Bay Pulmonology treats disorders of the lung including chronic diseases such as emphysema and asthma, diseases caused by exposure to toxic substances, sleep disorders, chronic cough relief, interventional pulmonology and acute pulmonary problems such as pneumonia. Services include respiratory screenings, treatments, therapies and self-management education. We are looking for a Medical Assistant in this practice. The Medical Assistant (MA) is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care in a team-based environment. The MA will assist providers in the care and treatment of patients, including administrative support, while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office and helping to create a calm, supportive atmosphere.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.Hiring Scam AlertMaineHealth will never request financial information during the interview or pre-hiring process.
