Senior Compliance Technical Writer

Technical Writer Position Seeking an experienced Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and enhance audit-ready compliance documentation in a highly regulated environment. This individual will partner with subject matter experts, compliance teams, and operational stakeholders to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, accurate, and well-organized documentation that supports compliance, operational consistency, and audit preparedness. Key Responsibilities Create, edit, and maintain technical and compliance-related documentation, including procedures, policies, guidelines, process maps, and supporting materials. Review documentation for accuracy, consistency, readability, grammar, formatting, and alignment with regulatory and organizational standards. Develop document structures, outlines, revision plans, and content strategies independently or in collaboration with stakeholders. Translate complex technical, operational, and regulatory information into clear, concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Research, update, and maintain documentation to reflect process changes, regulatory updates, audit findings, and continuous improvement initiatives. Validate documented procedures against actual operational practices and system functionality. Support the development and maintenance of documentation standards, revision controls, templates, and formatting guidelines. Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams to gather information, review content, and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness. Assist with project coordination, stakeholder communication, and meeting facilitation related to documentation initiatives. Track multiple documentation projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered. 4–5+ years of technical writing, process documentation, compliance documentation, or procedural writing experience. Experience developing documentation within regulated, compliance-driven, or highly structured environments. Strong editing, proofreading, and document quality assurance skills. Experience creating process maps and workflow documentation using Visio or similar tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities and documentation efforts simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting audit, compliance, regulatory, governance, risk, or operational excellence initiatives. Experience documenting technical systems, operational processes, or enterprise procedures. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and document control best practices. Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and review sessions. Background working in utility, energy, infrastructure, engineering, or other regulated industries is preferred.
