Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards. Ability to remove, repair, and install floors, tiles, roofs, walls, frames, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, paint, filter/dampers, replace skin, trim, tag equipment, and handle UR decals and equipment numbers. Execute basic electrical, plumbing, and/or welding repairs and modifications with minimal guidance. Hook mobile office units to power sources. Check tire pressure and lug condition. Complete assignments on time, within budget, and as documented on Work Orders. Document all work orders and related materials accurately. Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDLA drivers when necessary. Perform equipment modifications following manufacturer specifications and local building codes. Maintain organization and cleanliness in the shop, yard, tools, and supplies areas by following 5S guidelines. Ensure cleanliness standards are met for every assignment. Store tools, supplies, and Value‑Added Products (VAPs) securely. Keep the yard free of debris and advise supervisors of supply needs. Conduct inbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing, following Rental Flow procedures. Operate forklifts safely. Show and exhibit fleet to customers when requested. Safely install and uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Active applicable state class driver’s license. 3‑5 years of experience with basic electrical, plumbing, and/or welding repairs. Basic verbal and written communication skills. Construction knowledge and background. Teamwork and customer‑service orientation. Demonstrated time‑management skills. Proficiency with required information technology. Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers’ warranty processes. Accurate recording of time and materials for proper work‑order completion. Ability to coach and mentor less‑experienced operations staff. Capacity to lift up to 45lbs. Position is classified as Safety Sensitive under United Rentals policies.
