As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Screening in Long Island City, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $18.87/hr Job Schedule Daytime: Monday 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM, Saturday 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM How This Role Works Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑related policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security‑related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential buildings, common areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions. Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor activity in accordance with location policies, assisting with check‑in processes, directions, and general support as needed. Communicate with residents, visitors, and local responders regarding incidents, policy questions, and other security‑related matters while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Minimum Requirements Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License. Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience. Be 21+ years of age. X‑Ray screening experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Applicants may be considered with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
