Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to support daily inventory operations at their New York City facility. The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for receiving, organizing, tracking, and replenishing food, supplies, and other materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring products are available when needed for meal production and delivery operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and able to work effectively with inventory tracking systems and physical inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming food, supplies, and inventory shipments; verify quantities, condition, and product information against purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Accurately enter and maintain inventory information in warehouse management or inventory tracking systems.
• Organize and properly store products in designated locations, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify low-stock items to prevent shortages and operational delays.
• Perform routine physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
• Rotate products according to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to help maintain product quality and minimize waste.
• Properly handle and store refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods in accordance with food safety and organizational standards.
• Pick and stage food, supplies, and materials needed by kitchen and meal-production teams.
• Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, including handling boxes and cases weighing up to 50 pounds .
• Inspect products for damage, expiration dates, and other quality concerns and report issues to management.
• Maintain accurate documentation for receiving, inventory movement, transfers, and adjustments.
• Work closely with warehouse, kitchen, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure inventory is available when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all applicable workplace and food-safety procedures.
• Perform other warehouse and inventory-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in inventory control in food and beverage preferably, warehouse operations, receiving, stocking, or material handling preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Comfortable using computers, scanners, inventory management systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to accurately count, record, and reconcile inventory.
• Experience using a pallet jack preferred.
• Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds .
• Ability to work in refrigerated or cold storage environments when required.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
