Phlebotomist (Varied) Abingdon, VAJohnston Memorial Hospital | Laboratory | Full TimeDescriptionJob Description: Summary: The Phlebotomist I shall perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups following Ballad Health standard operating procedures. Site dependent, this position's responsibilities may also include the processing of chain of custody collections, sweat chloride collections, therapeutic phlebotomies, throat and NP specimen collections. The Phlebotomist may be assigned to provide phlebotomy with patient care areas outside of the hospital such as regional cancer centers, nursing homes, physician offices, and community health fairs, and to perform related clerical duties as needed. The Phlebotomist may be responsible for the performance of CLIA waived testing as assigned. This individual shall maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ballad Health patient safety and patient information security. As requested, the Phlebotomist will participate in the training of new team members. The Phlebotomist is also responsible for additional duties as assigned.Requirements: Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, to interact effectively with all patients and their families.Licenses and Certifications: Valid and active phlebotomist certification requiredBLS requiredWork Requirements: Shift: Night On Call: No Rotating Travel Required: No Travel Shift Details: 8p-0630a City/State: Abingdon, VAThe range for this position is $17.00-$24.23.
