DISHWASHER / UTILITY TEAM MEMBER

Grit & Grind Cafe is looking for dependable Dishwasher / Utility Team Members to join our crew.

We call this position our Utility Crew because it's a lot more important than just washing dishes.

Our Utility Crew helps keep the entire restaurant moving. You'll help maintain the dish area, keep the restaurant clean and organized, restock supplies and jump in to help the team wherever you're needed.

If you like staying busy, don't mind getting your hands dirty and would rather move around than stand in one place all shift, this could be a great fit.

PAY + TIPS

Base pay is $8$10/hour depending on experience, availability and position PLUS participation in our shared tip pool.

And yes our Utility Crew participates in the tip pool too.

Our tip pool has historically added at least approximately $4/hour to eligible team members' earnings, and our team is currently averaging around $16/hour in total earnings including tips.

Tip amounts vary based on customer tipping, hours worked and other factors and are not guaranteed. Past tip earnings do not guarantee future earnings.

WednesdayFriday: 11:00 AM8:00 PM Saturday: 6:30 AM1:30 PM Sunday: 8:00 AM2:00 PM Monday & Tuesday: CLOSED

We're hiring part-time employees for a variety of shifts. This position can work especially well for students looking for after-school, evening or weekend hours.

Weekend availability is strongly preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Utility Crew members help wherever they're needed to keep the restaurant clean, stocked and operating smoothly.

Your responsibilities may include washing and putting away dishes, keeping the dish area clean and organized, taking out trash, cleaning floors and work areas, restocking supplies, maintaining the dining room and other areas of the restaurant, assisting with basic prep or kitchen tasks when trained, helping with opening and closing duties and jumping in to support the team during busy periods.

This isn't a job where we expect you to stand at a dish machine for eight hours and ignore everything else happening around you. You'll be part of the restaurant team.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need restaurant experience.

You do need to be dependable, willing to work, comfortable staying active and capable of recognizing when something needs attention.

We're looking for someone who shows up when scheduled, works with a sense of urgency, keeps their area clean, follows directions, communicates with teammates and is willing to help instead of saying, "that's not my job."

This can be an excellent first job for someone who wants to learn how a restaurant operates and eventually cross-train into other positions.
