Forklift Operator

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years Forklift Operation experience in a warehouse
• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
• Employee must be able to work with a rotating shift (day/night) and a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.
• Employee must be able to respond to call outs when required.
• The ability and desire to work safely
• The ability to work night shift or day shift
• Must be able to work weekend when required.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Verifies all loading and unloading of material for assurance.
• Assists Inventory Control for verification of counts and material
• Routes trucks to loading and unloading destinations within the yard
• Complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
• The employee is responsible for the racking of material per instruction.
• Communicating to Supervisor any problems with material, racks, or trucks.
• Assisting at processing inbound and outbound racks when needed.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Prepare product for shipping.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated
• Transfer cement Super Sacks from warehouse to hoppers without tearing the bag or straps. In the event that bag breaks, forklift operator will be required to immediately pick-up the cement from ground and place in supersacks.
• Transfer pallets of finished bagged goods to the shipping area without tearing any of bag goods.
• Must be able to follow all forklift safety regulations including but not limited to wearing your seatbelt at all times.
• Also, in times of necessity, a forklift drive will have the same duties as a General Labor.

Other Safety Requirements:

• Must be able be clean shaven every day so that respirator have a proper fit on face.
• Must be able to pass fit respirator test.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of forklift experience (Required)
• Must be have a current Forklift Certification

Language:

• English (Required)
• Spanish (a plus)

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
• Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
