Software Engineer, Starlink Network The Starlink program is building the world’s most advanced broadband internet system, using thousands of satellites, consumer receivers, and software to provide fast reliable internet to millions. This role helps design, test, and operate software for satellites, gateways, and user terminals to improve network performance and make broadband accessible to under‑served communities. Responsibilities Develop highly reliable, real‑time software for gateways, satellites, terminals, and switches. Participate in and lead architecture, design, and code reviews. Develop prototypes and run experiments to validate design concepts. Develop tools for development, deployment, data analysis, visualization, and testing across virtualized hardware, simulations, and on‑orbit environments. Deploy reliable software and enable continuous integration and release processes. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science, or 2+ years professional experience in software development. Experience developing in C, C++, or assembly. Preferred Skills And Experience Strong production experience with C, C++ or assembly. Experience developing, debugging, and deploying software used in real‑world applications. Knowledgeable in real‑time rendering, game engine development, physics simulation or other real‑time, resource‑constrained high‑performance computing. Creative problem‑solving with strong analytic and engineering fundamentals. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs. Experience with networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP, etc.) and distributed systems. Experience with security in distributed systems and internet services. Additional Requirements Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Compensation And Benefits Pay range: Software Engineer/Level I: $125,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year. Software Engineer/Level II: $145,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year.
