Industrial Maintenance Technician
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production machinery to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This position supports preventative maintenance programs, minimizes downtime, and assists with continuous improvement initiatives.
Technician Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, bearings, and production equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams.
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Install and align machinery and equipment components.
- Maintain and repair facility systems including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air systems as needed.
- Use welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment for repairs and modifications.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting including motors, controls, relays, VFDs, and PLC systems.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Assist with machine upgrades, new equipment installation, and process improvements.
- Respond quickly to production downtime and emergency maintenance calls.
- Keep maintenance areas clean and organized.
- Provide personal basic hand tools and electrical meter
Qualifications
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors, and industrial controls.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, or dusty industrial environments.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing or industrial facility environment.
- Exposure to moving machinery, electrical systems, and industrial equipment.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
