Behavioral Health Homes Family Support Specialist (Children's)

Salary Range

$19.38 - $24.19 Hourly

About the Role

As a Behavioral Health Homes (BHH) Family Support Specialist , you'll use your lived experience as a family member of someone who has received mental health services to provide hope, guidance, and support to families navigating behavioral health challenges. Working as part of a collaborative care team, you'll help families build natural supports, connect with community resources, and advocate for their children's needs.

What You'll Do

• Build trusting relationships with families through peer support.
• Share your lived experience to inspire hope and recovery.
• Help families navigate behavioral health services and community resources.
• Collaborate with care teams to support children and families.
• Assist families in developing natural support systems.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Lived experience as a family member of someone who has received services for a mental health diagnosis and willingness to self-identify in this role.
• Current Maine OCFS Family Support Specialist certification preferred, or willingness to complete required CORE training and obtain certification within 9 months.
• Strong communication, organization, advocacy, and teamwork skills.

Schedule & Location

• Monday-Friday
• No weekends
• Hybrid (office and community-based work)
