The incumbent works with individuals and groups to promote optimum treatment outcomes through the acquisition of socially significant adaptive behaviors and reduction in maladaptive behaviors.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Implement behavior modification programsAttend and participate in treatment/behavior management team meetings with staffAbility to collect data as assigned by supervisorAbility to utilize online data collection and scheduling software (i.e. AlohaABA and Motivity).Ability to effectively communicate with clients verbally and in written correspondenceUnderstands and works with the various support systems available in the communityPossesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle emotionally charged situationsAbility to train others to apply effective behavior management techniquesCommunicate critical information about clients to supervisorsMaintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatmentRecord client progress through data collection measures and summary sheets according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan.Prepare and maintain all required treatment materials, records, data sheets, and stimuliAttend weekly/monthly staff meetingsMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)A minimum of high school diploma but Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, occupational therapy, human services, speech and language, or closely related field preferredDriver’s license and reliable means of transportationAbility to understand the characteristics of a wide range of intellectual disabilitiesPersonal and professional experience with mindfulness or meditation work preferredApplicant must be able to be a team player and take feedback and implementBLS and CPR Certified (Preferred but not required)RBT or BCAT Certified (Preferred but not required)CPI or NCI trained (Preferred but not required)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAppropriate behavioral intervention strategiesLearning theories and instructional methodsEthics, laws, and regulations of acceptable behavior interventionsDevelopmental processes of children, adolescents, and adultsInterpersonal skills needed to manage crisis situationsTechnology, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointCorrect English grammar, punctuation, and spellingAssess situations and make proper judgmentsUnderstand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical mannerObjectively analyze crisis situationsRespond quickly to emergenciesCommunicate effectively and make recommendations to various agency staff and outside professionals, groups, or individualsPerform general clerical duties including maintaining accurate client records and preparing clear and concise reportsAbility to stay organizedUse a computer and behavioral software to prepare documents and maintain client recordsWork independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelinesMaintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and when emergency crisis situations ariseMaintains a professional demeanor with clients, parents, and other professionals in the field.Provides information by answering questions and requests.Provides in-home, community, and school educational and behavioral support.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Maintains client records and confidentiality according to the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act and other privacy laws.Check emails and scheduling software dailyMaintains certificates and licenses.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
