About the Role:

The HIL - Sales Route Driver- Relief plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products to customers across assigned routes within the area. This position is designed to provide flexible coverage, stepping in to manage sales routes as needed to maintain consistent service levels. The primary goal is to uphold customer satisfaction by delivering products accurately, handling transactions professionally, and representing the company with integrity. The role requires adaptability to various routes and schedules, ensuring seamless operations during peak times or when regular drivers are unavailable. Ultimately, this position supports the sales team by maintaining strong customer relationships and contributing to the overall success of the distribution network.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate driver’s license as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience in driving and delivering products safely and efficiently.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a sales route driver or in a similar delivery role.
• Familiarity with the geographic area and common delivery routes within the assigned region.
• Experience using handheld devices or mobile applications for route management and sales processing.
• Knowledge of product lines relevant to the company’s offerings.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver products along assigned sales routes.
• Load and unload merchandise, ensuring accuracy and proper handling to prevent damage.
• Engage with customers professionally to complete sales transactions, answer questions, and address concerns.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including receipts, invoices, and inventory logs.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while on the road.
• Provide relief coverage for regular route drivers, adapting quickly to different routes and customer needs.
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues or delivery discrepancies promptly to management.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and storage areas.
