Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join a dynamic healthcare team in Big Sky, Montana. This role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care within an acute care setting, serving a diverse patient population requiring urgent and emergent medical attention.

The ED RN is a vital member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. This position emphasizes a collaborative approach to patient and family education, ensuring optimal understanding and participation in the care process.

Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, demonstrating sound clinical judgment and a commitment to upholding professional nursing standards and patient safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health status and situation.
• Analyze assessment data to determine accurate diagnoses and identify patient issues.
• Develop individualized plans of care with expected outcomes, prescribing strategies to attain these goals.
• Implement the identified plan of care, employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
• Provide patient and family education, ensuring understanding and active participation in care.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members.
• Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain current knowledge and competency reflecting contemporary nursing practice standards.
• Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
• Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into daily practice.
• Provide leadership within the professional practice setting.
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to hyperacute and acute stroke care.
• Participate in a minimum of four hours of annual stroke education.
• Complete six hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent emergency nursing or critical care experience.
• Competence in and willingness to practice modified primary nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Licensing Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Montana.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
