Pulmonary Critical Care Physician

A healthcare system on Long Island is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care Physician to join their team in Nassau County. This role offers a blended inpatient and outpatient clinical practice focused on diagnosing and managing complex respiratory disease in a high-acuity specialty hospital setting.

• Setting: In-person, hospital-based

• Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services across the continuum of care
• Evaluate and manage complex respiratory conditions, including acute respiratory failure, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and pleural disease
• Interpret pulmonary diagnostics, including pulmonary function tests, imaging, and laboratory results
• Coordinate bronchoscopy and other pulmonary procedures when indicated and within privileging guidelines
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, critical care teams, nursing staff, and other specialists
• Provide hospital call coverage for pulmonary consults and emergencies

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Critical Care
• Medical degree and completed residency and fellowship training in Pulmonary Critical Care
• Experience providing inpatient pulmonary consultation and management in a hospital setting
• Ability to manage high-acuity respiratory and critical care patients
• Strong clinical documentation and electronic medical record proficiency

• Experience working in an ICU or step-down unit
• Bronchoscopy experience
• Exposure to cardiopulmonary specialty hospital practice
