Technologist-Mammography Lead

Job Summary

Operates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. performs other duties as assigned, including lead responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Coordinates patient scheduling, assign tasks to other Mammography Technologist, and monitor the overall workflow to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
• Provide clinical instruction, train new staff, and assist in ongoing education and competency assessments for the team.
• O versee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring the mammography equipment functions optimally.
• Oversee required documentation for a successful MQSA program.
• Completes assigned goals.

Specifications

Experience

Minimum Required

• 6 months experience in mammography.

Preferred/Desired

Education

Minimum Required

• Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

• Associates degree in related field

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (M); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. State license as required.
