Reentry Case Manager Part-Time*

The Orange County Criminal Justice Resource Department has an opening for a time‑limited, part-time Reentry Case Manager. The role’s primary responsibility is to manage a caseload of clients returning to their community from prison, jail, and/or probation/parole, as well as individuals with a criminal history who need services to overcome barriers to successful reentry. The case manager assists clients in transitioning back into the community, coordinates the delivery of services to support reentry based on assessed needs, provides guidance and support, enhances client participation in the planning process, develops a plan of action, monitors client progress, and ensures the continuity of services before and after release. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Local Reentry Council Coordinator with independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Supervision is not an assignment of this classification. Related work may be performed as required. This is a safety‑sensitive position that requires participation in the Drug and Alcohol Program. A background check is required, and preference will be given to applicants who have experienced incarceration and/or reentry. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, or a closely related field; or Possession of a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of human services work experience in case management, peer support, or advocacy for individuals facing barriers to reentry, or counseling for justice‑involved populations. Special Requirements Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina.
