Material Handler

Job Description:Understand quality and purchasing within company specifications, goals, and objectives.Comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations; comply with internal ATI practices.Support all 6S and lean initiatives.Maintain proper training, tools, and materials to carry out his/her duties.Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to transport raw materials to operators and back to the warehouse.Safely and efficiently unload incoming materials from trucks.Safely and efficiently load outgoing materials to trucks.Assist in miscellaneous operations that require use of a forklift.Keep warehouse clean and organized.Help maintain traceability with regards to LIN’s.Report damaged material to appropriate personnel prior to signing BOL.Lead forklift training.Required Knowledge and Skills:Understanding of organization flow chart within the companyUnderstanding of how to work well with a team in an unsupervised mannerAdvanced knowledge of forklift operation and forklift safetyAbility to understand and complete basic mathematicsAbility to deal with problems and make decisions involving several concrete variables in standardizedsituationsUnderstanding of production needs, including plant layout; must be able to plan the movement of materials to several different production areasAbility to read and understand job travelers and pick listsAdvanced understanding of Material Identification, Measurement & Blueprint ReadingMinimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED equivalentRequired PPE:Steel toe or composite toed boots.Physical Requirements:Must be able to independently lift up to 60 lbs.Ability to sit, stand, or walk for up to eight hoursRequires frequent bending, squatting, and stepping up and down from a forkliftAbility to sit and operate a motorized vehicle for extended periods of timeAbility to work in an environment without a controlled temperatureThe above declarations are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job described, nor are they intended to be such a listing of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
