Registered Nurse RN Operating Room Weekend

Primary City/State: Phoenix, Arizona. Department: Surg‑Hospital. Work Shift: Day. Job Category: Nursing. Sign‑on incentive: $10,000 for experienced Operating Room RN. Shift details: Full‑time, 3x12s (36 hours per week) from 06:30 to 19:00, Friday‑Sunday. On‑call holiday rotations required. Weekend shift differential: 30%. Call flat rate $5/hr, weekend shift differential $3/hr, 18% night shift differential when applicable. Recruiter will review eligibility and schedule details during interview. Position Summary Provide nursing care in the operating room supporting General, Trauma, GYN & Plastics specialties. Assist with other cases and services when necessary. Evaluate, plan, implement, and document patient care according to standards of professional nursing practice. Maintain quality of nursing services and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Core Functions Assess patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge needs; review history, diagnostics, and laboratory results; complete assessments and reassessments. Formulate a plan of care—including discharge plan—based on assessment data and patient, family, and health team input; set realistic, measurable goals. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision; ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise care plans as needed; evaluate progress toward goals. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; record physician orders accurately and timely. Provide care based on best evidence; participate in unit or facility shared leadership; engage in education and orientation of personnel, patients, and families. Contribute to society by supporting initiatives that enhance patient outcomes through safe and efficient care; participate in professional organizations and quality improvement activities. May supervise staff and workflow within the department. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts; provide spiritual support through clergy when appropriate; synthesize data to support patient and family responses. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or compact RN licensure). BLS certification required. Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work; demonstrated through annual validations. For Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions: minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital. For Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions: minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in a physician practice or acute care setting. In home health settings: ability to operate a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license; active auto insurance is required. In behavioral health roles in Arizona, possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and a signed Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at hire and maintenance during employment. Banner Home Care AZ employees must maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card throughout employment. Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health employees in Arizona must maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card throughout employment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred.
