Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior AI Desktop Engineer to design, build, and ship cross-platform desktop applications that bring enterprise AI capabilities directly into daily workflows.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building and deploying Electron-based desktop applications for both macOS and Windows , combined with experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities, enterprise APIs, authentication, workflow automation, and secure desktop technologies.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring strong software engineering, desktop application, AI integration, and enterprise integration experience.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Significant hands-on experience building and shipping production cross-platform desktop applications using Electron or comparable frameworks .

• Strong experience developing for both macOS and Windows .

• Experience designing intuitive, accessible, and high-performance desktop user experiences.

• Experience automating manual or fragmented workflows into desktop-first applications.

• Hands-on experience with desktop capabilities including:

  • Local caching and synchronization

  • Background/long-running tasks

  • Native OS notifications

  • Deep links and protocol handlers

  • File-system integration

  • Clipboard integration

  • Multi-window applications

• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into end-user applications, including one or more of:

  • LLMs

  • RAG

  • AI agents

  • Workflow orchestration

  • Conversational interfaces

  • Voice interfaces

  • Responsible AI guardrails

• Strong API and integration experience with REST, GraphQL, and event-driven services .

• Experience with desktop release and deployment practices:

  • Code signing

  • macOS notarization

  • Auto-update mechanisms

  • CI/CD for multi-platform builds

  • Enterprise distribution

  • Intune, Jamf, or comparable MDM

  • Crash/performance monitoring

  • Automated UI testing

  • Phased rollouts

• Working proficiency in Python or comparable backend language .

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP .

• Experience with containers, CI/CD, and observability.

• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and enterprise SSO .

• Experience with local data protection using OS keychain/credential vault technologies and secrets management.

• Strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing internal productivity or desktop applications for enterprise, corporate, operations, support-center, finance, or similar environments.

• Experience with design systems, accessibility, usability testing, and product analytics.

• Experience with Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, vector search, prompt orchestration, or agentic AI frameworks .

• Experience with enterprise systems such as Microsoft 365, ERP, ticketing, HRIS, data platforms, or identity providers.

• Experience in retail, restaurant, ecommerce, loyalty, finance, supply chain, or other high-volume enterprise environments.

• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, business analysts, architects, and engineering teams.

• Experience mentoring engineers through design reviews and code reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship high-quality cross-platform desktop applications for macOS and Windows.

• Build AI-enabled desktop experiences that simplify complex business workflows.

• Replace manual and browser-heavy processes with efficient desktop workflows.

• Integrate desktop applications with enterprise APIs, AI services, and backend platforms.

• Implement secure authentication and enterprise SSO integrations.

• Build reliable desktop release, update, monitoring, and deployment processes.

• Contribute to platform architecture, reusable integration patterns, and engineering standards.

• Partner with business and operations teams to understand workflows and translate requirements into technical solutions.

• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

• Monitor application performance, stability, adoption, and user experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior Desktop/Software Engineer with proven production experience in Electron + macOS + Windows , combined with AI/LLM integration and enterprise application development .

Candidates whose experience is primarily web development, backend development, or AI/ML without substantial production desktop application experience may not be a fit.
