This position works in a supportive manner as a charge nurse, quality management coordinator, and a resource for the unit. This position will provide backup support administratively in the absence of the director. The Charge Nurse coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given period of duty. The role involves assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident/patient care. Participates in patient/resident and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other resident/patient team members. This is done according to established facility/unit and department policies, procedures, and standards. The RN maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.
