Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU

Location

Omaha, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays every other or as unit needs dictate

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed CVICU setting with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for open heart, complex thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
• Manage and titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Support patients on advanced hemodynamic devices including Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO
• Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips; no monitor technicians are available on the unit
• Manage respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, excluding Maternity/NICU

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of experience with CVICU or equivalent complex cardiac/vascular patient population
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and other critical care drips independently
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips without monitor technician support
• Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced cardiac surgery patients, lytic cases, carotid procedures, EVARs, and endovascular AAA repairs
• Familiarity with cath lab, structural heart, EP lab, and ER patient populations transitioning to the ICU setting
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT management in a critical care environment
