Senior Bridge Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Design and analyze bridges and other transportation-related structures.

• Prepare and review structural calculations, engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.

• Manage bridge projects through planning, design, and construction phases.

• Perform structural inspections, condition assessments, and evaluations of existing bridges.

• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and state and federal regulations.

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, technicians, clients, and other project stakeholders.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.

• Review engineering drawings and calculations to ensure accuracy and quality.

• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

• Support client relationships and contribute to business development efforts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge design and structural engineering.

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• Experience with bridge design, analysis, and rehabilitation projects.

• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and applicable design standards.

• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.

• Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenBridge, or similar programs.

• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
