We are seeking a dedicatd and dynamic Early Childcare Special Education Teacher. to join our team!QUALIFICATIONS:Master 's degree in education or special education.Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsement in at least one area of Special EducationMinimum 3 years of prior experience teaching special needs to school aged children.Patience and compassion for students with special needsKnowledge of current special education topics and methodologiesAbility to assess student abilities and develop instructional plans NATURE OF THE POSITION: As an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, you will use your skills and experience to foster a nurturing learning environment that encourages social, emotional, and intellectual growth for all students. Teaching students with disabilities, providing individualized instruction and support to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. They work with students who may have physical, mental, emotional, or learning disabilities, and collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and other support staff to develop and implement (IEPs) RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:AccountabilityDevelop compliant Individualized Education Plans (IEP) that promote measurable student growthImplement IEPs, assess students' performance, and track individual student progressUpdate IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goalsAssess students' skills to determine their individual needs to develop IEPs and lessonsDevelop and analyze effectiveness of positive behavior intervention and support plans representative of the student's communication, social skills, and sensory needsEnsure accommodation and supports are in place for state and district assessmentsSupervise state and district assessments as indicated per IEPsUse formative assessment data to adjust and modify instructionAnalyze progress reports to determine instructional effectivenessAdapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needsPrepare students for transition to the next grade levelManage classroom behavior and enforce rules and conduct standards CommunicationEffectively communicate student progress, in oral and written formats, with school, parent, and agency partnersResponsible for ensuring communication with staff, parents, and agency partners regarding meetingsCurriculumPlan, organize, and assign activities that support growth towards student's IEPDeliver instruction based upon differentiated curricular needsTeach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one settingsPersonnelSupervise and mentor paraprofessionals who work within the classroom to support students with disabilitiesPhilosophyFollow/support The Concord Creed as the core of the school culture and discipline planHelp provide a safe, learning environmentSchedulingDevelop and manage the creation and implementation of the service schedule for students with IEPsParticipate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to convey and/or gather information required of the positionOther responsibilities as assigned.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Satisfactory criminal background check.
