Environmental Program Specialist - NER0037

Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above. This position will be located at the Northeast Regional Office, 1709 Prospect Drive, Macon, Missouri. You will be joining the Public Drinking Water Compliance Unit, where you will work to ensure safe drinking water is provided to citizens in the Northeast Region. You will perform technical work implementing the Missouri Safe Drinking Water Law, Missouri Code of State Regulations, and the Water Safety and Security Act to evaluate and determine environmental compliance and assist regulated entities and the general public. Responsibilities Schedule and conduct environmental inspections and investigations at public water systems in the Northeast Region. Prepare technical reports and documentation. Provide compliance assistance to public water systems regarding drinking water requirements. Perform monitoring and sampling, as needed. Review and track reports received from public water systems in the Northeast Region to ensure regulatory compliance. Perform other related work as assigned. Equivalence A bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.) Preferred degree program would include the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Soil Science, Ecology, Agricultural, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field.
