Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub in cardiovascular, vascular, and general operating room cases within a high-volume, multi-suite surgical department
• Perform scrub duties including open heart scrubbing across assigned service lines including cardiac, vascular, thoracic, neuro, robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplantli> Support an average of 35–50 surgical cases per day with an expectation of turnovers under 20 minutes
• Participate in on-call coverage, including weekend call from end of Friday shift through Monday morning, and general department call during the initial orientation period
• Float across multiple campuses as required to meet staffing needs
• Operate and assist with advanced surgical technology including robotic systems, neuro navigation, and orthopedic trauma instrumentation

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current and recent Operating Room experience with a focus on CVOR (approximately 80% cardiac cases / 20% general cases)
• Strong and proficient experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery; basic general surgery circulating experience required
• Scrub experience required, including open heart scrubbing
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• EPIC EMR experience within the previous 3 years
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the previous 12 months; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Trauma Level II experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
