About the Position

Job Title: RN - Mother/Baby Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Minimum 1-year current Mother/Baby acute care hospital experience Description: This position involves providing care to mothers and their newborns. The unit has a capacity of 26 beds. The staff on day shift includes 1 Charge RN and 7-8 RNs. Night shift staff consists of 1 Charge RN and 6-7 RNs. Patient ratios are typically 1:3 or 1:4, but these are estimates and not guaranteed. The unit uses EMR for documentation. Most recruited candidates are travel RNs and local support staff. Candidates should possess compassionate, caring, patient, and friendly attitudes. Experience in lactation and transitions is preferred. Typical procedures performed include circumcisions and educating parents on newborn safety, nurturing, and health. This position requires a priority on patient care experience. The environment is supportive and emphasizes teamwork. Updated equipment and technology are available to assist in providing effective patient care.
