Employment status: Full time. Shift: Evening/Night. Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE, Roanoke. How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare As a travel RN, you will provide nursing care across multiple disciplines and facilities, adapting to a wide range of patient populations and assignments. Assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and individualized care for patients of all ages. Use delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum outcomes. Complete age‑specific admission and ongoing assessments, develop and revise care plans. Administer treatments and medications accurately via electronic medical records. Identify and document patient/family educational needs. Contribute to performance improvement activities. Act as patient advocate and protector of rights. Apply growth and development knowledge for age‑appropriate care. Synthesize clinical data and formulate comprehensive care plans. Support evidence‑based quality patient care and performance improvement. Mentor coworkers, students, and professionals. Manage resources, prioritize, and modify environment to meet patient care needs. Complete projects within timelines and according to guidelines. Apply problem‑solving to resolve patient and personnel situations. Participate in orientation and unit, hospital, and system activities. Delegate and oversee patient care delivery. Maintain patient, staff, and customer confidentiality. Travel Requirements Travel to other Carilion facilities may be required based on vacancy and prioritized patient needs. Physical Requirements Lifting, prolonged standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Must maintain safe mobilization of patients. What We Require Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing of an accredited college. BSN preferred. Experience: 2 years of experience in a related field. For ED, 3 years of ED experience required. Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Specialized requirements: Psychiatry & Behavioral Health: De‑escalation training must be completed within 1 year of hire and maintained thereafter. Pediatrics: Care delivered within competency to pediatric and PICU (PALS & PEARS required). Home Health: Must have valid VA Driver’s license and pass a Criminal Record Check. Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required; may also need BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP. Computer skills: Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record.
