Part-Time Customer Service Associate

Our customers range from beginners purchasing their first machine to experienced quilters, embroiderers, and sewing enthusiasts. We also provide machine service and support that helps our customers get the most from their investments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a customer-focused environment, and takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail. No sewing experience is required. Position Summary The Part-Time Customer Service Associate provides outstanding customer service and helps create an exceptional shopping experience for customers. This role focuses on assisting customers throughout the store, accurately measuring and cutting fabric, answering questions, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized showroom. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and create a friendly, welcoming shopping experience. Assist customers in locating products and selecting fabrics and products that meet their needs. Safely and accurately measure, cut, and prepare fabric orders. Operate fabric cutting tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Answer customer questions in person and by phone and provide helpful, knowledgeable service. Learn basic information about company products, services, and promotions to assist customers and direct specialized questions to appropriate team members. Support the service department by checking machines in and out for repair and maintenance services. Process retail transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Stock shelves, merchandise products, and maintain an organized, attractive showroom. Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, and restocking merchandise. Support in-store events, classes, demonstrations, and promotional activities. Maintain a professional understanding of company products, services, and promotions through ongoing training. Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, dependable, professional, and team oriented. Willingness to learn product basics, store services, and customer support procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when measuring and cutting fabric. Basic math skills, including the ability to work with fractions and standard measurements. Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, and basic office software. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy retail environment. Interest in sewing, quilting, embroidery, crafting, or other creative hobbies is a plus, but not required. Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the store during scheduled shifts. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely handle fabric-cutting tools and equipment. Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including some Saturdays and Sundays.
