Strategic Planning Manager

Act as the day-to-day liaison between the client, vendor partners, and media community Develop and implement client media plans according to brand objectives and guidelines Collaborate with Integrated Planners, Data Science, and partner creative agencies Supervise and train Associates and Senior Associates on planning activities and client business Manage client media-related issues, create solutions, and resolve issues Establish timetables for plan development Integrate strategic planning philosophy into communication plan development Help develop planning objectives and strategies aligned with the client’s marketing direction Promote consumer‑centric, creative, and innovative approaches to reach target consumers Supervise implementation of integrated offerings and tools Identify opportunities for cross‑platform deals Provide points of view on media in the marketplace Create media plan recommendations and alternatives Select media vehicles and determine scheduling Analyze competitive marketplace activity Oversee execution of and present media plans to clients Gauge media performance against objectives and strategies Maintain budget control and authorize approved media schedules while monitoring buys and schedules Coordinate with Investment teams and creative agencies Study demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences Handle client requests, including plan or budget changes, and provide marketplace information Meet regularly with media sales representatives and industry representatives to pursue strategically aligned ideas Requirements 3+ years of experience in cross-channel branding strategy or media/communications Proven, strong team management, interpersonal communication, and collaboration skills Knowledge of advertising, marketing, and media principles Basic knowledge of psychology, economics, or journalism Solid understanding of Broadcast, Print, Outdoor, and Digital media Knowledge of media dynamics and cross-media performance Understanding of Investment-side business skills and functions Knowledge of Strategic Business Units’ competencies Interest in the client’s industry and operating environment Knowledge of syndicated research, ad serving, and media billing tools is a plus Ability to understand media data sources, measurement methods, and reported information Understanding of marketing and advertising principles, media concepts and terms, creative requirements, and budget requirements Strong presentation skills Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in developing and implementing media plans aligned with client objectives, while effectively managing cross-channel branding strategies and team dynamics.
