Job Overview Company: Overland Contracting Inc Req Id: 114976 Job Title: 0988 - Electrician - Foreman Location: PJLAKECOR Business Unit Sector: OCI-BVOPS-CONSTRUCT EXCL CEFS Opportunity Type: Craft (non‑union) Relocation eligible: No Full time/Part time: Full‑Time Project Only Hire: No Visa Sponsorship Available: No Job Summary Direct and supervise the planning, layout, installation, testing and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of the craft workers under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. Must have all necessary tools (see Electrician tool list). Key Responsibilities Be able to perform all of the principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under his/her supervision. Lead and support all safety related processes and programs as requested. Engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. Have an understanding of the scheduling, material control and unit man‑hour performance reporting. Become familiar with the Field Progress Management System (FPMS). Create and execute a one‑week schedule and set crew goals based on project unit rates. Review crew's timecards for correct hours and phase coding. Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor and participate in investigation process as needed. Review accidents and causes with employees. Lead, complete, and sign off on daily pre‑job safety planning in the appropriate format. Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or mitigate them. Assure all crew members understand, participate, and sign all pre‑job safety planning tools at shift start and end. Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices. Support and follow lockout/tag‑out procedures; attend site‑specific training and assure compliance with all procedures outlined. Use effective verbal and written communication skills; perform arithmetic exactly. Listen to employees and supervisors, evaluate suggestions and implement action plans. Coordinate and communicate work with other crafts and co‑workers on the job. Provide on‑the‑job training to subordinates; train safety practices, policies and procedures related to their tasks. Perform task planning, communicate with supervisor to ensure an adequate supply of tools, materials and equipment. Gain a complete understanding of the scope of work and related project parts. Conduct toolbox meetings and communicate safety concerns. Participate in quantity report collection. Ensure employees produce quality work according to plans, specifications and industry standards. Inspect subordinates' work for compliance with contract plans, specifications and industry standards. Ensure construction equipment is operated, maintained and inspected in good working order. Complete performance reviews of craft workers per Craft Performance Assessment (CPA) Guidelines. Ensure subordinates have qualifying skills for their level. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a supervisor. Certifications: State Electrical License, NCCER Electrical, NCCER Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, NCCER Pipeline Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, NCCER Project Supervision. Minimum Qualifications At least 5 years of experience working as an electrician or similar craft, or a combination of experience and training. Strong working knowledge of the electrical craft and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Must hold all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is performed. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for team members. Must have all necessary tools. Must be at least 18 years of age. Certifications State Electrical License NCCER Electrical NCCER Electrical and Instrumentation Technician NCCER Pipeline Electrical and Instrumentation Technician NCCER Project Supervision NCCER Project Management Physical Demands Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, including uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with job duties. Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls according to procedure. Perform repetitive movements. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperature extremes. Work Environment Typical construction site environment. Work in cramped spaces and awkward positions. Work in very hot (above 90°F) or very cold (below 32°F) temperatures; exposure to dust, wind, snow, rain and other inclement weather. Work in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Exposure to noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable. Work around hazardous equipment. This is a safety‑sensitive position.
