About This Role
We are looking for a dedicated assistant teacher to join our team at Little Sprouts Discovery Center in Redgranite, WI. This is a unique opportunity to work in a family-friendly, flexible environment with a team of passionate educators. As an assistant teacher, you will work closely with our experienced staff to create a safe and engaging atmosphere for our young learners. What You'll DoProvide care and protection for the children in our care.
Assist teacher in carrying out daily developmental programs for children of a variety of age and ability levels.
Participate with children in daily activities to enforce safety rules, encourage development of positive social relationships and behaviors.
Give input toward curriculum development.
Respect the dignity and basic right of each child.
Assist children in eating, dressing and other activities to foster appropriate habits.
Make daily observations on the health of each child.
Arrange classroom and prepare supplies for activities, may have responsibilities for certain learning centers.
Assist teacher to be sure equipment is accessible and in good condition.
Perform other duties assigned by the teacher.
Greet parents in a positive attitude daily.
See that the classroom is neat, clean and friendly.
Work as a team member to help develop each child's potential; report to the teacher any special problems a child may have in adjustment, learning, social interaction or motor function.
RequirementsHave completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the department of public instruction.
Be CPR and First Aid certified or is willing to obtain within 6 months of assuming the position.
Be at least 18 years old.
Each year after assuming the position must maintain continuing education, as stated in licensing rules for group daycare centers.
