HR Assistant

Job Description

Human Resources Assistant opening for our growing client in Martinsville, VA!

This is a contract opportunity

1st shift schedule

3-4 days a week/ 8 hour days

$16-18/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Post available positions on the company bulletin boards as requested by the HR Rep. Remove job postings in a timely manner and verify the correct hire date for each job bidder.
• Maintain a supply of printed applications in the office lobby and collect the completed applications throughout the day. Maintain an alphabetical file of completed paper applications.
• Coordinate with hiring manager to set up interviews of prospective employees as directly by the HR Rep.
• Assist with new hire orientation, benefits meetings, communication and translation.
• Create and maintain personnel record for all hourly associates. File all employee documentations and changes in a timely manner.
• Assist Safety Manager with maintaining safety and health training files.
• Assist with the preparation of all training materials.
• Assist employees with inquiries connecting them to the proper department, manager or website.
• Provide support to the HR Manager, HR Rep. Safety Manager and Plant Management as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS OR EDUCATION
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a clerical position.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exhibit can-do attitude, strong interpersonal skills, including good relationship-building skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
• Possess and maintain excellent time management, strong analytic and organization and prioritization skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work on tight timelines.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment.
