Summary The Lead CRNA and AA serves as an Advance Practice Professional, practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. This position serves as an intermediary between APPs and the Supervisor and Clinical Director in collaboration, development, communication and implementation and monitoring of a broad range of initiatives, tasks and projects as directed by the APP supervisor, Clinical Director or Program Chair including managing schedules, mentoring and orienting APPs and problem‑solving clinical issues. As a medical provider that is not a physician but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a physician, the APP assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The APP is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co‑morbidities. The mid‑level works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s). Other applicable duties as assigned by Leadership. The Lead Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Anesthesiology Assistant (AA‑C) serves as an Advance Practice Professional, practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Position Highlights Assists in the recruitment, orientation and training of APPs. Coordinates clinical assignments and coverage needs. Serves as intermediary between APPs and Supervisor. Represents APPs on various program committees. Maintains requirements for medical staff membership and clinical privileges within the Cancer Center. Adheres to all medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations. Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Assists in the mentorship program of new APP hires. Credentials and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree at minimum required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a CRNA or AA required. Training, experience, and education consistent with that received through the successful completion of an American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, or Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants approved training program. Has served in a leadership role in a program or hospital wide committee preferred. Active BLS and ACLS. Salary Range $209,532.96 - $319,458.88 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
