MRI Technologist-Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center-Per Diem

Job Description Responsible for creating cross‑sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment. Principal Accountabilities Position patient on exam table and place specified coil (head or knee) close to the area of interest following protocols requested by the radiologist. Demonstrate use of a microphone that allows the patient and technologist to communicate during examination. Enter data (patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation, and entry position into the MRI bore) into the computer. Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers via the computer. Observe patient through the control room window and closed‑circuit TV screen to monitor safety and comfort. View images on the display screen to ensure image quality. Key in data on the camera keyboard to capture images. Alert staff entering the magnet room of the danger of wearing or carrying metal. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited radiology program. State RT license for ARRT candidates through the NJDEP, or MR certification through ARMRIT.
