Key Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans and goals to maximize functional outcomes
• Deliver therapy services to inpatient skilled nursing patients as well as outpatient cases within the same facility
• Implement treatment programs and reassess treatment results on an ongoing basis
• Actively participate in discharge planning as part of an interdisciplinary team approach
• Maintain standards of professional and ethical practice in accordance with the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy
• May be asked to precept other staff as needed by the unit

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas state occupational therapy license and national OT licensure/certification
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a skilled nursing or acute care setting
• Some outpatient occupational therapy experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to meet a productivity standard of 24 units in an 8-hour day

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience treating patients with general SNF diagnoses including wounds, orthopedic, neurological, and debility conditions
• Comfort working in a critical access hospital environment with an average patient length of stay of approximately 14 days
