About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with prosthetists, orthotists, and physical therapists, gaining hands-on experience in prosthetic and orthotic rehabilitation while delivering high-quality patient care.
This role is ideal for a PTA interested in expanding their clinical expertise and developing a specialty in prosthetics and orthotics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility interventions
- Support patients using prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices during rehabilitation and training
- Educate patients and caregivers on safe device use, mobility strategies, and home exercise programs
- Monitor patient progress and report findings to supervising Physical Therapists
- Collaborate with prosthetists and orthotists to support optimal device fit and function
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to treatment protocols
Specialization & Growth Opportunities
- On-the-job training in prosthetic and orthotic rehabilitation

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state PTA license or eligibility for licensure
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in prosthetics, orthotics, and specialized rehabilitation care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in outpatient orthopedics, neuro rehab, or amputee rehabilitation
- Familiarity with assistive devices and mobility training
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
