Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Uniontown, PA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed private stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 1:4–5 (up to 1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; unit serves as the central monitor station for the entire hospital
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin; manage set-rate insulin infusions
• Manage patients on Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen therapy
• Care for a heavy cardiac population including dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
• May float to the ICU in a helping-hands capacity as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Pennsylvania
• BLS certification required (must be unexpired)
• ACLS certification required (must be unexpired)
• NIHSS certification required (must be unexpired)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently
• Experience titrating drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with Cerner and/or EPIC EMR systems
• Experience managing patients on Bipap, CPAP, or High Flow oxygen
• Background caring for cardiac and neurological patient populations
