Project Manager - Commercial AV Integration

Black Box AVS is seeking a Project Manager to own and drive the execution of commercial AV integration projects from post-sale handoff through completion and closeout. This is not a coordination-only or reporting role. This is a hands‑on execution role where you are responsible for making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and without unnecessary inefficiencies in the field. You will work directly with general contractors, site superintendents, installers, and internal teams to drive real project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Own projects from handoff through commissioning, punch, and closeout Drive project schedules in alignment with GC timelines and construction milestones Coordinate directly with general contractors, site supers, and trades Serve as primary client contact during project execution (in coordination with sales) Schedule and manage installers and subcontracted labor Review drawings and identify risks before they impact the field Ensure materials and equipment are ordered and available in alignment with install schedule Manage project budgets, labor usage, and financial performance Identify and drive change orders as needed Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve issues Lead coordination across engineering, installation, and procurement teams Drive projects through commissioning, punch, and closeout What Success Looks Like Install teams arrive on site with clear direction and readiness Projects do not require multiple unnecessary site visits Issues are identified early - not discovered in the field Communication is clear, proactive, and consistent Projects stay aligned with schedule and budget expectations Work moves forward without constant firefighting Required Qualifications AV integration, low‑voltage, construction, or related field Demonstrated ownership of: budgets labor coordination client communication Experience working directly with general contractors and trades Ability to read drawings and understand project scope and field conditions Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment Strong communication skills with both field teams and clients Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites Ability to walk job sites and perform light physical activity (up to 25 lbs) as required Preferred Qualifications AV / AVL / systems integration experience Low‑voltage or structured cabling project experience Experience coordinating subcontractors and field labor Familiarity with construction project workflows This Role Is NOT For You If: Your experience is primarily in PMO, enterprise program management, or software delivery You rely heavily on tools, reporting, or process to manage projects You are not comfortable being directly responsible for field execution You have limited experience working in construction or trade environments This Role IS For You If: You’ve managed AV, low‑voltage, or construction projects You understand how work actually gets installed in the field You are comfortable coordinating with GCs and trades You take ownership when things go wrong and solve them You prefer execution over meetings Combination of office, remote, and on‑site project work Regular job site visits required Ability to walk job sites and interact with field teams About Black Box AVS Black Box AVS is a design‑build AV integration company serving commercial, hospitality, and high‑end residential clients in the Nashville market.
