Assistant Store Manager

Position Summary The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in upholding the daily store operations of a retail store, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, managing expenses and inventory, training and development of the store team, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for overall quality and performance of the retail store staff and ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures. Model effective leadership, gain commitment to store goals and training standards. Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of store personnel and provide feedback to the Store Manager on annual performance evaluations for all staff. Assist with expense management and develop strategies that position stores to perform in accordance with the budget. Monitor and identify issues related to loss or inconsistencies in the store to ensure the store achieves shrink goals at or below company plans. Monitors and controls all aspects of operational compliance, safety and business standards. Support training of all employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques. Ensure company customer service standards are upheld so that each customer receives outstanding service and a friendly environment. Assist in the completion of accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Standard work week not to exceed 40 hours. Requires a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience in retail management. Skills and Knowledge Requirements Solid knowledge of business operations and excellent command of the English language for effective communication with management, associates, and customers. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy. Strategic thinker with strong planning and organizational skills. Exceptional professionalism and discretion with the ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality. Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to administrative problems, and prioritize work. Results‑driven with critical and creative thinking skills. Project, time, and organizational management skills. Professional use of Microsoft Office products. Willingness to work in multiple stores within the assigned district. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, work extended hours during critical project phases, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with flexibility. Reliable transportation required. Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train. Compensation and Benefits Assistant Manager pay range: $18.40–$20.40 per hour. Bonus opportunity if guidelines or criteria are met. All roles are eligible for the company 401(k) plan.
