Night Shift Food Plant Sanitation Pro

Shift: 3: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM Status: Non‑Exempt Essential Job Functions Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, GMPs, and wear required personal protective equipment while in the warehouse or production areas. Maintain food quality and food safety per the standards of the company, customers, and governing bodies (FDA, SQF, etc.). Prepare production equipment for cleaning and follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures when doing so. Use cleaning chemicals and follow safety instructions on labels. Sanitize, foam, scrub, and rinse production equipment, ensuring all areas meet Food Safety and Food Quality standards. Clean and sanitize conveyors, drip pans, rails, floors, drains, ceilings, and walls in production and warehouse areas. Maintain elevators, stairwells, and auxiliary areas such as the Reverse Osmosis area. Sanitize auxiliary facilities, office areas, bathrooms, and replace trash liners. Verify and validate sanitation effectiveness with visual inspection and chemical testing. Confirm proper sanitation by monitoring CIP system printouts or documentation. Store chemicals and safety equipment properly. Minimize downtime during sanitation and pre‑operational inspections. Maintain accurate sanitation documentation and complete the Master Sanitation Schedule daily. Required Skills Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical technical data sheets. Perform tasks following safety protocols to prevent accidents and contamination. Operate industrial cleaning machines such as pressure washers and floor scrubbers. Identify potential sanitation issues early. Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and food safety standards (HACCP, SQF, FDA). Attention to detail and meticulousness in cleaning tasks. Time management skills to complete tasks within scheduled times. Problem‑solving and creative thinking to implement effective cleaning strategies. Teamwork: cooperative attitude and willingness to assist co‑workers. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of experience as a sanitation/janitorial worker in a warehouse environment using mobile cleaning equipment; operation of industrial baler preferred. Working Conditions Work schedule: weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings, and overnight may be required; overtime scheduled as needed. Environment: fast‑paced production plant with moving parts, noise requiring hearing protection, and temperatures ranging from hot to cold; structured and supervised. Travel Requirements 0% travel anticipated. Physical Requirements Stand or sit for significant periods. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary. Lift up to 50 lbs. (minimum 5 lbs). Carry weight and lift repeatedly. Walking, driving, climbing stairs or ladders, and balancing on uneven surfaces. Visual/sensory attention to detail, requiring focus with one or two senses at a time. Excellent hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise equipment control.
