Radiology Technician

Radiology Technologist (Radiologic Technologist) — Night Shift Location: St. Joseph, MI 49085 (On-site) Schedule: Nights, 10-hour shifts — 9:00 PM–7:30 AM ; every other weekend ; no on-call Pay: $28/hr - $35/hr Summary Hiring a Radiology Technologist for an on-site hospital setting in St. Joseph, MI . This Radiology Technologist role focuses on routine diagnostic radiology, portable x-rays, trauma, and surgical imaging support. Ideal for an ARRT-certified technologist who works confidently on nights, follows ALARA radiation safety standards, and consistently produces high-quality images in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Perform routine diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures using proper positioning and immobilization techniques Complete portable x-rays , trauma imaging, and surgery support imaging per department protocols Follow ALARA principles; utilize shielding and safety measures to minimize radiation exposure Verify patient identity and orders; confirm clinical history and required documentation before imaging Prepare patients for procedures, explain instructions, and help reduce anxiety while maintaining workflow Assist with contrast procedures (per policy), monitor dosage, and screen for potential allergies Evaluate images for technical quality; adjust parameters as needed and send images to PACS Support imaging equipment readiness, safe handling, and basic quality assurance; escalate malfunctions appropriately Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure equipment is present/accounted for at shift start and end Participate in safety initiatives and complete required competencies; perform other duties as assigned Qualifications ARRT (Radiographer) certification required (active upon hire) BLS required (AHA or Red Cross) within 90 days Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent related experience) required; bachelor’s preferred Recent experience in diagnostic imaging , portable x-ray , and hospital-based workflow strongly preferred Working knowledge of radiation safety , patient positioning, image quality standards, and clinical documentation Comfortable in a night-shift environment with strong attention to detail, patient care focus, and teamwork mindset *aa415a4b-8b21-40fc-a65c-70d2b25ca29a
