We are seeking a strong individual contributor who can independently execute accounting functions with consistency and precision. The current bookkeeper is working three days a week but hours could increase to full-time.
Responsibilities include:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
- Prepare, issue, and track customer invoices and collections
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
- Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting documentation
- Process payroll, commissions, and employee reimbursements
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with cash tracking and operational financial reporting
- Maintain organized accounting records and files
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding administration
- Perform job costing
- Work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational organization
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Office 365 experience including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to independently identify and resolve discrepancies
- Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong work ethic
- Be able to obtain Notary Public in the state of Kansas
- Must reside in the Kansas City metro area
