Non-CDL Driver Position

Hamilton Connections is looking for a Non-CDL driver for a distributor in Waterbury, CT. This is a temp-to-perm position. The Non-CDL driver is responsible for day-to-day warehouse functions and driving a box truck to deliver products in a timely, safe and professional manner. Candidates must have and maintain a clean driving record. The hours are 5 a.m. until finished, Monday-Friday. The salary is $21 an hour.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items, and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
Drive company box truck to deliver orders to our branches and/or our customers' sites, which includes unloading products
Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives; report any discrepancies to company
Follow route manifest set by delivery manager
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor
Comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations
Assist warehouse personnel with preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, and verifying incoming material
Properly track and document activity log; keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment
Deliver outstanding customer service and build professional relationships by treating customers and colleagues in a friendly and respectful manner
Maintain a safe driving record free of violations

Job Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years old
At least 2 years of related work experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Must have a valid DOT medical card or be able to obtain one
Clean driving record free of accidents and moving violations
Able to handle physical aspects of the job, including standing or sitting for long periods, getting in and out of truck, and lifting to 75-100 lbs.
Warehouse operations and logistics experience
Strong communication skills
Be a good team player and maintain good attendance
